FinSync Privacy Policy
Effective 21 October 2026
FinSync ("the app") copies music from a Jellyfin server that you choose onto storage on your own device. This policy explains what the app does with information.
What the app collects
Nothing is collected by the developer. FinSync has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer runs no servers that the app sends data to.
What stays on your device
- Your server address and sign-in token. When you connect with Quick Connect or a password, the app keeps the server address and the access token Jellyfin issues, so it can sync later. Your password is never stored. These are kept in the app's private storage on your device.
- Sync records. A list of the files FinSync has written to your chosen folder, so it can update them safely and never touch files it didn't create.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes these. Music files it copied stay in the folder you chose until you delete them.
Who the app talks to
- Your Jellyfin server, the one you enter, to list and download your music, cover art, lyrics and playlists.
- Google Play, only to check whether an app update is available (Google Play In-App Updates). Google's handling of this is covered by Google's own privacy policy. If you installed the app from Google Play, Google may also provide the developer with anonymous crash and performance statistics.
Storage access
The app only reads and writes inside the single folder you pick with Android's folder picker. Inside that folder it can recognise music that's already there so it isn't downloaded twice, and it lists files that aren't in your library without changing them.
Children
The app isn't directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
